Gruau, a French company founded in 1889 by René Le Godais, has evolved from a traditional wheelwrighting business to a major player in industrial bodywork. Over the decades, Gruau has diversified its activities, particularly by converting utility vehicles into camper vans.
Initially specializing in the manufacture of horse-drawn carriages, the company gradually extended its know-how to automobile bodywork. In 1955, Gruau reached a decisive milestone by obtaining an order for 250 coaches for the Air Force, thus marking its transition to an industrial dimension.
Gruau has distinguished itself by transforming commercial vehicles into motorhomes, offering tailor-made solutions adapted to the needs of customers. For example, the “Gruau Camping-car Motorhome” model on a Renault Midlum 180.10 carrier, dating from 2011, is a 9.7-metre-long integral motorhome, equipped to accommodate four people.
Prices for Gruau campervans vary depending on the model, year and equipment. For example, the previously mentioned “Gruau Camping-car Motorhome” was priced at €99,000.
